Children

On the first Sunday of each month, there is a Somervell Sunday School (Triple S) session during the Sunday Service with activities such as baking or arts and crafts. During the service, there is a dedicated couch space where children can make themselves comfortable during the service. It features toys, fidget tools, and activity packs with colouring-in.

Somervell Youth Group gather regularly for activities, games, events

Somervell Youth

In 2026, Somervell Youth Group is a combined Youth Group with St Heliers and Kohimarama Presbyterian Churches. It is a space for school-aged youth in Year 7 and above to build community, explore their interests, and have fun in a supportive environment, and they meet each Friday evening at Kohimarama Presbyterian Church (34 Kohimarama Rd).

Years 7-10 meet 5-7pm and Years 10+ meet 6:30-8:30pm, with a shared meal at 6:30pm.

Walking group

Somervell has a walking group that meets every Tuesday at 9:30am at Somervell. They walk either in the area surrounding the church or venture further afield. This is followed by coffee afterwards and the chance to chat. They welcome newcomers. Please contact John at 021 366451.

Sermon Lab

People are invited every Wednesday, 11-12noon, to come and explore the lectionary readings for the upcoming Sunday with a group of our congregation members. Tea/coffee provided.

Study series

From time to time, Somervell hosts study series. In the past these have been based on content from the Evolving Faith conference or focused on a theme such as Lent. They may feature keynote speakers and then a structured discussion afterwards in small groups.
