Membership
Anyone is very welcome to attend services at Somervell Presbyterian Church.
You do not need to be a member or associate member to attend Somervell but if you wish there are two forms of membership to consider: Full membership or Associate Membership.

Any person who chooses to be committed to being active in the worship and vision and life of Somervell Presbyterian Church may be received as a Member of Somervell Presbyterian Church by Session. This membership may be affirmed and recognized by Session on
• Communicant membership of the Presbyterian Church, or the equivalent in another denomination
• A public commitment such as those known as adult baptism or confirmation
• Production of a letter from another congregation certifying membership or
• Session in special circumstances being satisfied that a person might be considered eligible.
Members are able to make nominations to or be nominated for and elected to Session, and to vote in the calling of a minister. A Member of Somervell Presbyterian Church may exercise the rights of, and for statistical purposes will be recorded as, a communicant member of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Any person who wishes to be linked with the vision and the life of Somervell Presbyterian Church and who applies to do so may be received by Session as an Associate Member of Somervell Presbyterian Church.
Associates are able to participate in meetings of Somervell Presbyterian Church, but are not eligible to make nominations to or be nominated for election to Session, and vote separately in the election of elders or calling of a minister.
Venue Hire
We have a range of spaces suitable for a variety of purposes available for hire – from a small informal gathering, weddings and funerals, to a large concert and everything in between.
